The Powell River mill was one of the first things built
in the small community. The mill brought paper, wood, and
many more resources to the community and took a small play in the war.
The mill is 100% run on the damn blocking Powell Lake. The mill was established as the first official news printing place in western canada. The mill had a sad moment in the 1950's when it burned down. luckily the mill was rebuilt and put back into business. The mill was used in the war for creating plane wings and other parts so the military could send out more people to war.
