Dwight Hall

Dwight Hall

Dwight Hall was one of Powell Rivers first buildings. This building was used for meetings, balls, dances, plays, concerts, and other events. The lower floor was used for company stores, meeting rooms, and then a library. The Dwight Hall is now being used for the same stuff, and the Remembrance day event. The towns choirs go there yearly for concerts. The building was built in 1911 and was the focal point of the town. The hall contained features not yet thought of in similar structures at the time, but in 1927 they had no expense in the construction of Dwight Hall. The dance room had an adjoining supper room and kitchen. The hall was considered 'The finest of its kind'.
The building is the same to this day...
The building starred for many weddings, then and now. These images show the building from 1911 to 2017. Powell River    keeps their history in good condition.
